Spring is finally here! March 22 2017

Spring is a great time to launch some new products, so here we go!

My new Anahita collection is inspired by intricate Persian patterns.

My design process starts by drawing over and over until I create a set of motifs I feel work in a jewellery setting. I then take those patterns and transpose them into precious metals, often combining them with gemstones and beads, until I have enough pieces to build a collection.

I love that first time I finish a new piece!

I hope you will love them too...

Desire Fair London March 01 2017

I'm looking forward to exhibiting at the stunning Desire Fair in London's Chelsea Town hall this weekend.

Full to the rafters with some of the most talented and unique designers of jewellery and silverware around, it'll be an interesting show to take part in and (if I get the chance!) wander around.

I'll also be showcasing my new collection Anahita there (more on that later), so it will be good to get feedback from that - all positive I hope!

Here's a little taster....

New Work and Christmas shows! October 30 2016

Just a little tease running up to Christmas, of my new 'Boho' collection.

Based on Persian patterns, with a bohemian feel, this collection will be both pretty and intricate, combining precious metals once more with recycled fabrics. Watch this space...

I've also got a few Christmas events coming up -

Firstly, Desire in Winchester - a show dedicated entirely to jewellery and silversmithing. This takes place from 11th - 13th november at the beautiful Guildhall.

My work is also available at the Millennium Gallery in Sheffield at the Handmade for Christmas  exhibition running until 10th january.

More details of some local events too coming soon!

British Craft Trade Fair 2016 April 20 2016

As always I had a lovely time up at the BCTF in Harrogate - its exhausting and a long way to go, but meeting the buyers from shops and galleries and spending time with other makers always makes it worth while!

Here's a picture of my stand if you haven't already seen it...

Back to earth after the British Trade Craft Fair April 21 2015

Its been a few weeks since I blogged -

After a bit of time off at Easter I exhibited at the British Craft Trade Fair, an inspiring show full of amazing designers and crafts people with disciplines ranging from stunning jewellery, to beautiful ceramics to gorgeous textiles.

I had a successful show, meeting lots of gallery owners and buyers, and getting lots of great feedback for my work - particularly my new India collection which I'm really pleased about! I've popped a photo of my stand below for you to see...

From paper to metal - new designs revealed.... February 24 2015

My new collection is finally nearly ready for launching. Just few finishing touches before photography session next week, then I can show you the results!

In the meantime here's some design drawings and some part finished pieces on the bench to whet your appetite!

Valentine Inspiration! February 07 2015

It's that time of year again - time to indulge and celebrate your special someone. Here's just a few ideas to get you started...

The colour of the year is Marsala, so how about embracing that with my new coloured Swoosh earrings in a sumptuous deep rich red resin?

Or sticking with red hues, the gorgeous hammered ring set with a ruby - so delicate with a splash of colour....

If you'd prefer all silver have a browse of my  or Swoosh 2 collections.

Or I can always make something unique for you. Have a look at my bespoke collection for ideas!

If completely stuck for ideas, how about a gift voucher?

Marsala Magic! January 23 2015

It's official - the colour of 2015 is 'Marsala' a beautiful rich deep red burgundy.

According to Adorn, London, the jewellery and accessories blog, and The Guardian Style magazine, these are the hues to be seen wearing this year. Read this article for more -

I've always loved these shades (also reminiscent of India, which is probably why!) and I'm excited about combining some delicious garnets and rubies into my collections. They work especially well in yellow and rose gold.

Indian inspiration. January 14 2015

I've always held a fascination for Indian surface patterns and motifs. As I mentioned in my last blog post I've been looking at traditional India henna hand tattoos as well as at patterns on sarees and Indian jewellery. So where better than to visit London's 'Little India' to soak up up Indian culture and spend time browsing the jewellery and fabric shops?

Next stop was the V & A where I had a lovely afternoon perusing the South Asian galleries and of course the amazing Jewellery gallery. Here's a couple of pieces which inspired me - delicate gold filigree and granulated (tiny soldered balls of gold) jewellery and textiles from the Mughal empire - gorgeous!

Happy New Year! January 09 2015

I had a lovely relaxing Christmas, energising me for the start of the year!

Its the time of year to be working on new designs. I'm indulging my passion for all things India (especially surface patterns on fabrics and architecture) and I'm particularly interested in Indian henna tattoos at the moment. Some of the designs are so intricate and inspiring, like this one below. You can see more on my pinterest page on my 'Indian Inspired Loveliness' board. In fact, I think I might have to make a trip to Brick Lane to get some more inspiration from the fabric shops up there...

Coming up - where to see Andrea's jewellery over the coming months... November 03 2014

I've got a few lovely shows highlighting great British design, coming up in the next few months, covering a nice mixture of local contemporary Craft fairs and gallery shows.

The first one coming up is this Saturday 8th November in Worthing. Called Bartie's Boutique, I've never visited one of these before but its been going for several years and the organisers seem to invite a great mixture of crafts all of a high quality. Worth a visit I reckon if you're in that neck of the woods!

I'm also doing another similar show in my own back yard of Lewes on 6th December at the Town Hall. As a previous visitor to this show I'm really excited to be joining an eclectic and talented mix of well known local artists and designers selling their wares.

I'm exhibiting a collection of my Hammered and Twist rings at the Leeds City Gallery at the start of 2015 in their annual 'Rings' show. I feel privileged to be shown alongside a selection of some of the country most prestigious jewellers. Follow the link to see more!

I hope to see some of you at one of the shows!
